TENTERDEN FOLK FESTIVAL

Celebrating 25 years in 2017

Tenterden Folk Day Trust is a registered charity number 1038663 formed in May 1994 to preserve and advance public education and appreciation of traditional and contemporary folk music, song, dance and other related traditions, crafts and folk arts as a part of the living heritage.  The Trust is supported by Tenterden Town Council, Ashford Borough Council and Kent County Council and an increasing number of local and folk related businesses and other community organisations.

Tenterden Folk Festival takes place over the four days surrounding the first Saturday of October days with folk song, music and dance.  Tenterden, situated in the ancient Weald of Kent, about 12 miles west of Ashford, is an ideal setting for this friendly, family folk festival.  It features one of the widest High Streets in the country lined with historic and listed buildings, numerous friendly pubs, cafes and restaurants and green verges.

Events include concerts, barn dances, music and song sessions, folk clubs, workshops, meet the guests, Morris dancers, folk dance displays, procession, showcases, exhibitions, craft stalls, music stalls, street stalls and much more.
